Barry Bonds. What can we say about this man. You know him by the outfielder who hit more home runs than anyone else in Major League Baseball history. The man who in August of 2007 broke the record of legendary baseball God, Hank Aaron. The man who "developed" from a gifted and fleet outfielder into the game’s greatest slugger, hit for a single-season record 73 home runs in 2001. He was one of Major League Baseballs Greats, that was until he was indicted on the charges of making false statements before a federal grand jury.
On April 13, 2011, Bonds was convicted of a single count of obstruction of justice. The jury found that Bonds in 2003 had impeded a grand jury investigating performance-enhancing drug use by elite athletes by giving intentionally evasive, false or misleading statements during his testimony. Jurors felt he went out of his way to avoid answering the question of whether his former personal trainer, Greg Anderson, had ever injected him. The jury also came within one vote of convicting him on a second count, voting, 11-to-1, that he had committed perjury when he told the same grand jury in 2003 that he was never injected by anyone other than his doctor. After the verdict, several jurors said that prosecutors did not provide enough evidence to prove that Bonds knew he was using steroids during his unrivaled power surge. In December, a state court judge sentenced him to 30 days of house arrest, 2 years of probation, 250 hours of community service with youth groups and a $4,000 fine. A lawyer for Bonds said that he would appeal the conviction and would not admit guilt. Bonds had said "he thought Anderson was giving him flaxseed oil and arthritis balm, not steroids or testosterone." A futile attempt to uphold his name Bonds knew that he was in trouble.
During the trial, prosecutors said that people in Bonds’s close circle did know about his steroid use, including Steve Hoskins, his former business manager; Kimberly Bell, his former mistress; and Kathy Hoskins, his former personal shopper. All those people testified against Bonds at the trial, saying that they either saw Bonds get injected, talked to him about his steroid use or noticed the side effects the government said he experienced because of his steroid use.

Now you can't tell me that out of nowhere Barry Bonds got a random jolt of energy at the age of 36th. Most men after after reaching the age of 36 start to decline in numbers. So how is it that Barry Bonds was so different. No amount of hard work, skill and luck combined together couldn't have given this man enough power and strength to have the season he had. Bonds managed to hit 73 Homeruns, have 137 RBI's, maintain a .328 batting average, obtain a .515 On Base Percentage and rack up a .863 slugging percentage. These numbers are phenomenal these numbers could be the greatest in baseball history. But wait these were produced by Barry Bonds? How?         Steroids!!!

Whether Barry will admit it or not everybody knows that he has. Not only has he let his team down, he has let his fans down and for that matter he has let the WHOLE BASEBALL COMMUNITY down. Now Barry Bonds will be labeled for the rest of his life as a CHEATER because of his use of steroids. By choosing the EASY WAY OUT!
